FINALLY you say FINALLY JACKI WE CAN SEE IT yes but for all you king stans out there… (i know there’s quite a few of you, in the kos discord lmao) i thought you’d very much appreciate this one.

big ole congrats to chocoloverforlife!! (on tumblr) for this menacing and very pretty king, we love to see it

as always (and as you can tell from how long it took me to decide lmao) it was……….. RIDICULOUSLY hard to choose. cause they’re all different!!! and they’ve got different amazing things about them and yeah. it just makes me so happy to see them. like… people like this guy enough to spend time drawing him! wild!! thank you THANK YOU AGAIN to everyone who entered and i’m sorry i couldn’t choose all of you 🙁 but i still kind of did. cause yall will still be in the back. bc i love u and ur work <3

i’m thinking maybe we could do the full size + close up like I did with ep 8, cause i liked that a lot.

with the cover chosen…. hopefully i can get preorders started soon?? unless people have strong opinions, i’ll probably just bring preorders just back to the kos store.. kickstarter was interesting but………. it ended up really drawing out the process a lot longer than i’d like it to.

here is a little preview.. of what will be available with the ep 9 book.. i’m hoping to do something LIKE the kickstarter where there will be stretch rewards based on how many orders are made, but that’ll just be handled by.. me. and not ks.

next cover contest will be ms priomh and…. greyscale! really excited to see what ppl do with that. but, again. will be announced later. first things first. thank you again for your beautiful entries <3 you really did the king better than he deserves hehe

KINGS OF SORTS COVER CONTEST FOR EPISODE 9!

ENDS 03-MARCH!  

the ep 9 cover will star everyone’s least favorite king: MAREK.. THE KING! and the color is ROYAL BLUE! of course. royal blue for the royal boy

RULES:

1) i want these to be easily sourced to the artist so please post it on whatever social media you use, tag me and use the tag #koscovercontest (i’ll be reblogging/rting all of them)

2.1) when you’ve done that please email me a link to your post and the actual pic to [crabbng(at)gmail.com] so i dont miss any! (and also so i can contact you easily if u win!) 

2.2) email me the background you’ve made! (just the pic without the character) i’ve been using the backgrounds of the covers for the back cover

2.3) please include how you would like to be credited for your work! i.e. name or @ or both

3) submit your own work (obvi), multiple submissions are just fine! and if you won last time, go ahead and enter again!

REFERENCES/TEMPLATES:there are templates available to show you where the title/author/cover artist name will be for the final version, these are just for your reference only! please ONLY submit your artwork.

SPECIFICATIONS:

the cover (plus trim) is 8.75”x11.25” (300 dpi), the end result for the cover will be trimmed to 8.5”x11” by me, but keep that in mind while deciding on how to design your cover. PLEASE adhere to these specs! wrong specs can lead to an otherwise perfect piece not being chosen. 

TIMELINE:

starts now, ends 03-March! so get them posted and emailed to me by then. it doesn’t matter if you send it in earlier or later in the timeline, all will be considered equally

WINNER:

the winner will (obviously) get their pic to be the cover and i’ll send you a free printed copy of Kings of Sorts Episode 9! and whatever is in the preorder pack. (definitely going to be a king riding charm, but there may be other stuff!)
all entries will receive a free PDF copy of episode 9 when the book is formatted!

WE ALREADY DID IT… if you follow me on any social media you’ve already seen BUT!!! WOW!!! funded and the first stretch goal is reached.. everyone’s favorite older sister aoife is gonna be available IN PILLOW CHARM FORM!! HOORAY!!!

if you got any of the tiers that say ALL pillow charms.. she’s automatically yours! otherwise you’ll be able to choose her if you’re just getting a single one and next up is everyone’s favorite guy to hate! Ep 8 Cover Contest Winner!

episode 8 cover has been chosen!! with the very last entry JUST sliding in before the time limit, big congrats to Alex McGregor / @alienbeans on tumblr

the simplicity, the soft glow, the framing with the branches, YOU LOVE TO SEE IT!! and you know i love a good pattern lol

i say it every time BUT PLEASE READ THIS IF YOU ENTERED BECAUSE IT’S ALWAYS TRUE… IT WAS SO HARD TO DECIDE!! and there were SO MANY good fashions in these entries, i was both living because they were all so good and dying because i knew i’d have to choose one. :((

i’m hoping to arrange them so that both the full image and a close up are included, the number of entries was between not many and a fair amount, so while there is more space than on the first few episodes, there isn’t enough to get them each their own page (without adding a bunch of extra pages in and upping the price of the book)

once the PDF is formatted, i’ll send that out to everyone who entered, so do look forward to that. also, i’m… trying? to put together a kickstarter for this round of preorders, idk if i’ll like it but i want to try it once and see if i like it.

ep 10 cover character and color is up on the sidebar, no official posts for that one or ep 9 yet, no dates have been settled on, but likely it’ll be… probably january? for ep 9? i’ll make an announcement when it starts up for real though.

THANK YOU AGAIN!!!! TO EVERYONE WHO ENTERED!!! i’m so blown away by the creativity and the skill and the range of different styles!! as i said above, fashion was HUGE in this contest and i was SO!!! SO HAPPY that yall had fun with it. for real. legitimately heartwarming. anyways, i’ll wrap this up, thank you again and i look forward to future entries!! if you haven’t gotten on the cover yet.. keep trying!!!
