panel 1: Chaar avoids her mother's gaze. Chaar: "it- it's an hon- honorable position.. I thought you would be pleased."
panel 2: Her mother sighs, then speaks. Ayesha: "I am proud of where you've gotten yourself, Chaarose. but I am not pleased."
panel 3: Ayesha continues, calmly but firmly explaining herself to Chaar. Ayesha: "I worked. Tirelessly. to give my children comfortable lives." Ayesha gestures to her missing arm. Ayesha: "Lives where life and limb were never at risk. where the only life in your hands is your own."
panel 4: Chaar watches meekly as her mother continues. Ayesha (off-screen): Were they perfect, easy lives? No. But the were a hell of a lot better than-"
panel 5: a shot of the little memorial Chaar had found the coin in. Ayesha (off-screen): "than-"
panel 6: Ayesha picks up the top of the memorial and shoves it at Chaar, losing her composure. Ayesha: "than THIS!"
panel 7: She pushes it at Chaar with a shaky hand. Chaar backs away, clutching her hands to her chest. Ayesha: "is THIS how you want to end up?! nameless. a footnote, collecting dust behind a retiree's desk?!"
panel 8: Ayesha gets her composure back, putting the memorial down. Ayesha: "because of the path you've chosen, that's where you'll end up."
