panel 1: A young man comes up behind Tera's mom and hugs her. She puts her hand on his cheek. Tera's mom, Teodora: "Ahh, there's my birthday boy!" He replies: "I can take care of Tera's hair, Ma."
panel 2: Little Tera starts tearing up. She thinks: "Brother?" Her brother (off-screem): "Ohh, no, baby! Don't cry!"
panel 3: He picks her up and smiles at her. Brother: "After this trip, I'm gonna be moving out, so you'll have Ma and Da ALL to yourself."
panel 4: He puts her hair up in a puffy little ponytail. Tera (thinking): "I remember this day."
